Mycological Peptone is derived from Soybean plants, commonly used in Liquid culture recipes and agar recipes and also added to Substrate as a supplement. We are proud to say that Rootlab’s Soy Peptone is the best quality peptone you can get out there; peptone derived from animals is 1/5th the price but has a really off-putting smell, worse than a dead rat. The soy peptone is vegan and can be used in agar, liquid culture, or to make slants or grow cordyceps.
Supplementation with Peptone not only stimulates the growth of mycelium but also greatly improves the quality of the projected Mycelium Mat.

20 gram Agar Agar
20-gram Light malt extract
1 gram peptone
1 gram yeast
