Description
Vermiculite Grade 2 is used in mycology to make the mushroom-growing substrate.
Vermiculite is a lightweight amendment with excellent moisture retention and aeration properties. It is commonly used in Mycology with the conjunction of Coco coir and gypsum to make a substrate suitable for growing mushrooms. Vermiculite can hold 3-4 times its weight in water.
Vermiculite use also extends to using it on BRF cakes and to mix with a casing layer.
It is very easy to pasteurize the coco+ Vermiculite mix at home using Hot water and Calcium hydroxide. We also sell Sterelized coco coir and Vermiculite mix in our store.
