Frequent misting is better than misting a lot at one time; stop misting when the baby mushroom starts to come out. You may need to mist every 2-3 hours or as frequently as required.
Our products are designed to be used immediately or within 2 weeks. The longer you leave them before using them, the more issues they will cause later.
Kits are placed in an area after introducing mycelium into the bag in a space without direct fan sunlight or aircon. Somewhere, there is plenty of airflow, but not direct. Suppose the place has darkness. It's an added advantage but not compulsory. Many of our customers leave it in a cupboard or a box; this is not recommended, as the mushrooms will starve.
When mushrooms begin to grow, harvest them when the cap is still facing downward. The caps will then flatten and start facing upward, releasing spores. Once the spores are released, they start to die, so it's best to harvest them when the cap is facing downward or just starting to flatten.
You may make a mistake by harvesting them too late the first time, but you will surely know the second time. Some mushrooms do not have caps, like lions mane; we need to harvest them before they sporulate. It can be hard to say for the first time when that happens, but after the first time, you would have an idea that around 4-5 day mark, they sporulate, so it's best to harvest them before that. Mushrooms are still edible after sporulating but will not store for long.
After you have harvested your first crop (also called flush), you soak the bag as instructed and then put it back in fruiting condition.
Yes, with our kits, you can keep soaking between each flush, which will replenish the lost moisture and then fruit.
Expecting more than three flushes is unrealistic. With each flush, the amount of mushrooms you harvest reduces.
