Description
Brosciliate glass petri dishes measuring 90mm.
- Material: Made from high-quality brosciliate glass, these dishes are chemically resistant and can withstand high temperatures in a sterilizer or an autoclave both wet and dry.
- Design: The dishes typically feature a two-part design consisting of a shallow base and a lid that fits loosely, allowing for gas exchange
- Transparency: They offer excellent optical clarity
- Reusable: Just autoclave and reuse.
The agar is poured on them after they come out of sterilizer and not before. You can use a sterilization pouch to put the clean glass dish into, sterilizer and then take them out safetly before placing them inside a still air box or a flowhood and pour right away.
The glass petri dish can be extremely difficult to work with as it needs delicate handling, cleaning where contact with contaminated plate is required(wear gloves and mask), sterilizing before use and maintain sterility after sterilization.
How to properly Sterilize glass petri dish?
You can Sterilize them in oven or sterilizer after wrapping them in Aluminum foil tightly.
Sterilize at 15psi for 30mins or preheat oven in the highest setting and then put the wrapped petri dish inside for 30 minutes.
Open them in front of flowhoood or Still air box after spraying them generously with iso propyl alcohol.
You can pour the contaminated plate content into a high bleach solution to kill all contamination and use soft sponge, soap and warm water to clean dishes before they go into sterilizer again.
You would need a parafilm to wrap the glass petri dish after transfer. We have disposable plastic petri dish on sale as well.
